Mr. Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band

Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen
Kenny Ball is one of the supreme trumpet players in England. His performances in the Queen's Palace and on many gold records have made him a British institution. Papa Bue's Viking Jazz Band
Contrary to the their Viking ancestors, bringing horror and fear wherever their came, the Viking Jazz Band is exporting joy and pleasure from Denmark. It was officially awarded "Jazz Ambassador" of Denmark. The original stylings of the band embrace the Creole clarinet tradition, New Orleans Revival, Swing, Dixieland and Mainstream Jazz and will excite also your pbublic!

Dutch Swing College Band
The Dutch Swing College first formed during World War II in an illegal jazz club in The Hague. Although forbidden by the Nazi occupants Anglo-American "Unkultur" was revered. After the war this culture of the netherworlds rose to charm a broader public. It became one of the most important and popular jazz ensembles in Europe, touring on all continents. Their success and unique style is due to the superb jazz qualities of the ensemble, fusing typical Chicago Jazz with modern Goodman Swing.

Uralsky All Stars
Russian Swing and Dixieland, cultivated behind the Urals, is thrilling western European crowds. With the musical qualities of world-famous bands the All Stars recently released a CD with Chris Barber. Bandleader Oleg Plotnikov's arrangements combine the multi-faceted, typical, Russian folk music with jazz. The remarkable vocal qualities of the musicians add a special component and invite the public to swing.

Prowizorka Jazz Band
The Prowizorka Jazz Band is probably the most original Polish jazz ensemble. It was elected 1997 Trad Band No 1 in Poland. The gobophone, designed and played by singer Thomas Sacha, is a tiny children's mouthpiece saxophone. It is vocally blown with the sound varied by a simple glass of water functioning as the resonance body. This unique instrument, the high musical qualities of the band, and the astonishing repertoire produce a moving atmosphere which enchants your concert.

Rod Mason Hot Five
The internationally renowned, European, traditional jazz bands such as Chris Barber and Acker Bilk have recently been joined by the Rod Mason Hot Five, featuring remarkable, high-quality musicianship. Born in Cuba and raised in the USA, Estrella Acosta grew up with a mixture of South American and jazz music. This melting pot of cultures and styles has been a constant feature of her career and today finds its expression in her current band.

Archie Shepp
He duly earned his title as agent-provocateur of the avant garde movement of the '60s expressing the "Zeitgeist" in breathtaking soli which paved the way to new ground in experimental jazz. The development of Archie Shepp towards ballads, blues and spirituals gives testimony to the astounding sensibility of this musician who hasn't lost his ability to inspire the public.

Lou Donaldson
This American saxophone player while in his youth performed with Charlie Parker and Sonny Stitt. He evolved in the fifties to become one of the major artists of the legendary Blue Note label and became associated with other big names such as Art Blakey, Clifford Brown, Jimmy Smith, Thelonious Monk, and Milt Jackson. Being a jazz legend is not enough for this artist who in recent times has influenced the development of jazz dance.
